JOC & Allies Cohort

The JOC-Allies project supports BIPOC, Jews of Color, and their Allies in deepening relationships as a foundational element for engaging in racial justice and equity work.  The project has subsidized three annual cohorts of 40 leaders to attend Race Forward’s Facing Race conference and then engage in six months of race caucus learning. Cohort alumni are invited to stay in learning with incoming groups by attending the conference and joining the JOC-Allies Advisory Board.

The 2022-23 JOC-Allies Project will host two parallel cohorts for BIPOC women and white women allies in executive roles

BLAC: Black Leaders and Allies Cohort

Facilitates deep connection and power building across the intersectional identities that give shape to Black women leaders’ BEing. BLAC provides Black Women and Women of Color in executive roles with a restful space for leadership empowerment, community building, and the exploration of racial equity resources.

WWDR: White Women Dismantling Racism

Provides a space for white women executives and philanthropy leaders to explore the impacts of race, class, and gender identity on building intentional relationships as allies and accomplices to BIPOC women leaders. Through training, relational skill-building, and networking, white women will be prepared to shift power dynamics and deepen partnership with Black Women and Women of Color who are leading for racial equity.  WDR participants are invited to join a dynamic, warm, and welcoming community of white women professionals who have committed to the work of moving their allyship to accompliceship in the transformational work of moving our current prospects for realizing racial equity forward together.

Testimonial

“My experience in the cohort taught me lots of good lessons about myself and leadership in our Jewish community. My experience in my leadership position was stressful and lonely. I would not have made it this far without the team at Dimensions. There are no words to express my gratitude.”
